Taipei Tourism Passport Offers Discounts at 100 More Venues

Following the release of a themed itinerary leaflet containing coupons from 32 shops in the “Taipei Pass Taipei Tourism Passport,” Taipei City on June 18 further introduced a leaflet offering discounts at 100 more shops. Travelers who purchase the “Taipei Pass” 2-day ticket (or longer duration tickets) can receive this leaflet for free and enjoy great deals worth about NT$15,000 on well-known Taipei cuisine, accommodation, and more.

According to statistics, from January to May this year, a total of 29,464 “Taipei Pass” cards have been sold, an 116% increase compared to the same period last year. Starting from June 18, an additional “Taipei Pass” leaflet featuring 100 great value discounts will be launched. The discounts include 50% off on the Sun-Moon Hot Spring Rooms at Sui Mei Hot Spring Club, one set of grilled meat at Kanpai Yakiniku Izakaya, Xiaolongbao at Dian Shui Lou, 30% off on Shengjian Bao at Gao Ji, 30% off on hotel stays at The Landis Taipei, 40% off on weekday and 35% off on weekend stays at Hotel d’Angleterre, and 5% off at the National Palace Museum Palace Museum Restaurant, among others. The promotion period lasts until December 31, 2011.

The newly released leaflets come in two language versions—Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese—each with 8,000 copies. An English version with 8,000 copies will also be available shortly. Travelers can obtain them for free when purchasing the “TAIPEI PASS Taipei Tourism Passport” 2-day (or longer duration) ticket at information counters in any Taipei MRT station. Limited quantities are available and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
