Not Just Parks and Oceans: Tokyo Disneyland to Launch Third Theme Park

Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are among the must-visit attractions for tourists and a paradise for both adults and children. Now, a new theme park experience is set to debut. The management company responsible for operating Tokyo Disney Resort is planning to build a third theme park, “Disney Sky,” with a sky-themed concept that complements the existing Land and Sea themes.

Following the world’s only ocean-themed park, Tokyo Disneyland aims to create yet another one-of-a-kind, sky-themed park. In the future, this new park will feature attractions simulating space travel experiences, and may also completely phase out paper tickets in favor of digital passes via smartphones and other electronic devices.

The park will be designed based on the Pandora world from the movie Avatar and will incorporate themes such as Star Wars. Construction is set to begin in 2019, with completion in 2020, and operations are expected to start around April or May.
