Europe is filled with romantic charm, and in the summer months, various lively events take place, injecting energy and enthusiasm into the public. As the sun shines across the land, concerts and performances in city parks and squares bring Europe to life. Especially this summer, the Berlin Classic Music Festival at Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin will feature German and Italian operas, jazz, pop music, and even more excitement with fireworks displays.

In London, summer means even more outdoor music festivals, including the Notting Hill Carnival in August, where a variety of music and colorful costumes fill the parade with singing and dancing; there’s also the Hampton Court Festival, featuring artists such as Bryan Adams and James Blunt; and Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park, where you can enjoy performances by Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi, and The Killers.

Moving to Paris, the sunny summer is perfect for a cruise along the Seine River, and it’s also the height of the summer sales season. Athens will host the largest art celebration in Greece — the Athens Festival, welcoming an annual festival of music, theater, and culture. Finally, the truly popular travel destination — Spain — with Madrid’s rising temperatures, hosts the “Vallecas Naval Battle,” where water fights crowd the Vallecas district, splashing water that adds both heat and cool relief to the summer.
