The Yilan Folk Arts Center becomes a representative building of the PPP program over the past decade

From now until October 2nd, the Taiwan Museum is hosting the exhibition “Show摄可参．10载感动──促参十年摄影作品展.” The exhibited photography works were selected from thousands of submissions. Unlike typical architectural images, these photos, through the lenses of the public, present various Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects across Taiwan from unique perspectives, authentically showcasing the everyday aspects of these initiatives, and conveying the energy and inspiration generated by the PPP program over the past ten years.

The most important significance of PPP is that private investment in public infrastructure can compensate for the lack of cultural soft power, creating an environment that better meets public expectations and allows businesses to invest with confidence. It not only enhances the quality of life for citizens but also drives the vigorous development of related industries. Many of the photographs in this exhibition were taken at the National Center for Traditional Arts in Yilan, which is understood to be the most “popular” spot in this photography competition. Participants captured the center’s expansive grounds in diverse sceneries. The second place went to Taipei 101, and the third to the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway in Nantou.

The PPP program has been in effect for ten years. Locations commonly visited by the public—such as Jing Station for shopping and movies, Taipei Transfer Station and Taipei 101 for bus travel, the National Center for Traditional Arts in Yilan, the colorfully distinctive Wai’ao Service Area, as well as the Kaohsiung MRT and Taiwan High Speed Rail—are all achievements driven by the PPP initiative.
