Macau’s culture is diverse, and so are its flavors. The Portuguese cuisine here is divided into "authentic Portuguese cuisine" and "Macanese-Portuguese cuisine." The former refers to flavors introduced during the colonial period, while the latter blends cooking styles from Macau, India, Malaysia, and China, creating a unique taste found nowhere else in the world. Ingredients like curry, spicy and sour seasonings, garlic sautéed in olive oil, cheese-grilled dishes, and fermented tofu can all be found in the dishes, making Portuguese restaurants fill the streets and alleys of Macau.
The signboard of New Port Portuguese Restaurant is eye-catching.
New Port Portuguese Restaurant is run by brothers Fong Kin Fu and Fong Kin Chung. Head chef Fong Kin Fu has worked in five-star hotels and has been invited to serve as a judge in many cooking competitions. He has even hosted food programs and won numerous awards, drawing many diners who come specifically for his cooking. The restaurant is located near Lisboa Hotel, with a large yellow signboard that's very recognizable. The interior decoration resembles that of a traditional Western restaurant.
The restaurant has the feel of a classic Western dining spot or steakhouse—you can enjoy Portuguese cuisine here without spending a lot.
Before the main courses, you’ll be served hot tea and freshly baked bread. Signature dishes include the "Signature Grilled Lamb Chops," "Claypot Seafood Rice," "Fermented Tofu Stir-Fried Crab," "Grilled Whole Fresh Fish," and "Q-style Portuguese Chicken." Each dish is generously portioned—even men won’t leave hungry. For main staples, you can choose from Portuguese-style duck rice or curry fried rice.

The "Claypot Seafood Rice" is an adaptation of Spanish paella, made with shrimp, crab meat, fish, and seafood broth—rich and refreshing. The "Signature Grilled Lamb Chops" use lamb from New Zealand, juicy and flavorful, seasoned lightly with salt, garlic, and red wine, then grilled to 5–7 doneness to highlight the best texture of the lamb.
