Historic sites preserved through time always carry a mysterious beauty. Located in Hsinchu, Dong'an Ancient Bridge is the only remaining and most historically significant old stone bridge in Guanxi. Spanning both banks of the Niulang River, this old-fashioned circular arched bridge, built from stone, has stood firmly through the long years and remains to this day as one of the most resilient cultural heritages.

Dong'an Ancient Bridge was built in the eighth year of the Showa era during the Japanese rule (1933 AD) and now has a history of over 80 years. Its five-arch stone bridge structure showcases fine craftsmanship, and its construction during the Japanese colonial period gives it rich historical significance. It has been designated as a county-level historic site. Each stone block takes on different beauty with the changing sunlight, and the scenery around the piers and the shade along the riverbanks add endless charm to this ancient bridge.

The Niulang River beneath the ancient bridge, after undergoing renovation, has become a water-friendly park. On holidays, it attracts many visitors to watch fish swimming in the water, admire egrets flying freely, and stroll while taking in the views of the classic arched bridge and the beautiful riverside scenery — it’s like stepping back into a faded, timeless past.
