President Chain Store Corp. has secured the operating rights and will open a 500-ping space at Songshan Airport.

Last October, President Chain Store Corp. broke with precedent at Taiwanese airports by opening the first convenience store in Terminal 2 of Taoyuan Airport. After more than six months of planning, the company participated in a bid by the Civil Aeronautics Administration and was awarded the operating rights for the international terminal mall at Songshan Airport. It plans to create a stylish mall spanning nearly 500 ping based on the concept of “Taiwanese Artistry, Connecting the World.”

The mall will be spread across two floors and divided into four sections: “Convenient Taiwan,” “Arts & Culture Taiwan,” “Floral Taiwan,” and “Premium Taiwan.” Designed with the needs of international tourists in mind, the mall blends Taiwanese characteristics with global chain brands to create a fashionable, world-class shopping destination. The first-floor “Convenient Taiwan” will feature a composite concept store integrating 7-ELEVEN, Watsons, and OPEN PLAZA specialty shops. Additionally, 11 well-known chain brands such as Starbucks and Chun Shui Tang will be introduced to meet demands for dining, health and beauty products, travel essentials, and souvenirs.

The “Arts & Culture Taiwan” section will showcase handicrafts from the Taiwan Traditional Arts Center and incorporate Taiwan’s tea culture and local gifts, aiming to leave a deep impression of Taiwan on international travelers—especially those from Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China—who are the most frequent users of the Songshan Airport international terminal. The mall will also adopt public spaces and create a “Floral Taiwan” area themed around Taiwanese flowers, slated to open in October.
