Asia's largest music event, the Big Rainbow Music Festival, kicks off in October

This year’s biggest music event in Asia, the "Big Rainbow Music Festival," will be held in a grand celebration on October 8, 9, and 10. This largest-ever music carnival in Kaohsiung encourages all music lovers through “creation,” with the venue set at the “planned site of the Ocean Culture and Pop Music Center – True Love Pier and Pier-2 Art Center,” covering an area as large as five hectares (about three Taipei Arenas). The lineup is strong, and tickets are now on sale—locals are encouraged to take advantage.

The event spans three days, and the confirmed lineup includes eight Golden Melody Award winners: Tanya Chua, Sandee Chan, Lala Hsu, Suming, Matzka, Sodagreen, Chairman, and Chen F■, along with crowd-drawing acts such as Fish Leong, Yoga Lin, Hebe Tien, A-Lin, Shin, and Jam Hsiao. Additionally, internationally renowned bands have been invited at great expense to join, with the overall scale aiming to create Asia’s largest music festival.

Kaohsiung’s greatest pride is its sunshine and ocean, so the event name “Rainbow” is themed around seven colors across seven zones: Red – Little Rainbow Stage, Orange – Sunlight Stage, Yellow – Moonlight Stage, Green – Agricultural Products & Snacks, Blue – Waterfront Café, Indigo – Music Industry Lectures, and Purple – Creative Market. In addition, the organizers stated that to allow people from northern Taiwan to join the celebration, they have partnered with the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation to launch the “Big Rainbow High-Speed Rail Discount Ticket Package.” Tickets, available at nearly 20% off, are exclusively sold at 7-11 ibon.
