Reflecting on a new business model, Hunter’s Fruit Store will only operate until January 13

Hunter’s Fruit Store, a new brand launched by handmade bakery Hakken-do, has announced that after two and a half years of operation and relocating from near National Taiwan University to Keelung Road, it will cease operations on January 13. However, the management team clarified on Facebook that this is a temporary suspension. “It’s a semicolon, not an end, but the beginning mark of the next chapter,” they wrote, concluding with “Until we meet again.”

In the announcement, Hunter’s Fruit Store stated that over the past two and a half years, the store evolved from a 1.0 version—a light dining shop at National Taiwan University—into a 2.0 version on Keelung Road offering both dine-in and take-out services. After much deliberation, the team decided to slow down amid rapidly changing circumstances to reconsider the next step for Hunter’s Fruit Store—how to stay true to the original mission of providing quality ingredients from local Taiwanese farmers while also delivering satisfying products to customers. Therefore, Hunter’s Fruit Store will draw a semicolon, temporarily close its doors, and take time to reflect on a new business direction.
