This private island resort boasts breathtaking dreamlike scenery, along with tranquility, comfort, and a high level of privacy, making it a favorite among political and business elites as well as a honeymoon destination for couples. This summer, a top-tier resort, Akatsuki Resort, opens on Koh Samui. With architectural designs that blend Japanese and Thai styles, it has been hailed by major magazines as Koh Samui’s newest “five-star ultra-chic private getaway.”

The new luxury resort, Akatsuki Resort, is located on the picturesque Lipa Noi Beach, overlooking the Five Rocks Island across the lagoon. It is available for private bookings only and accepts group reservations of up to 15 guests at a time, with a maximum capacity of 17 people. The property features four swimming pools, a spa, a concierge team, a private chef, a private guide, drivers, and butlers, as well as numerous entertainment and leisure spaces.

Akatsuki was designed by renowned architect Riccardo Tossani, who resides in Tokyo. He infused the concept of “coexisting with nature” into the design, reflecting local culture, climate, and regional characteristics, resulting in a creation that combines fashion, functionality, and luxury. The materials used include reclaimed wood, minimizing reliance on artificial energy sources. Natural ventilation and shaded facilities are implemented to greatly enhance comfort.

The five suites each have their own style and are named after Japanese elements, reflecting Zen-inspired natural design. The dining options include Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and Italian cuisines to satisfy diverse tastes. Additionally, the resort has three shared spaces that can host various events and allow for customized itineraries based on guests’ needs. Room rates vary depending on the season and group size. As part of the opening promotion before December 31, 2011, the rate starts from $2,000 USD per night, which equates to $200 USD per person for a group of ten.
