Every year from late September to early October is when Germany holds its Oktoberfest, an annual major festival in Munich that lasts for two consecutive weeks. In recent years, similar events have started to be held in various countries, where elements of German cuisine are added to dishes, paired with ice-cold beer for a more vibrant city atmosphere. Hotel operators in Miaoli have collaborated with Zhunan Brewery—the largest brewery in Southeast Asia—to launch a “German Pork Knuckle” themed meal, offering the public an alternative option.

The German Munich Oktoberfest is called “Oktoberfest” in German, meaning “October Festival.” It is held annually from the third Saturday of September to the first weekend of October. Originally stemming from a royal wedding celebration in 1810, it has now evolved into a world-famous beer festival. During Oktoberfest, Munich regularly hosts various parades and music and art events, attracting a large number of tourists from around the world. According to statistics from the local tourism bureau, as much as 5 million liters of beer are consumed during just these two weeks of the festival.

Featuring German mustard, sauerkraut, roasted pork belly, pickled red cabbage, imported sausages, and more, it combines local flavors with German flair. The event runs until January 30 (weekdays, Monday to Friday), priced at NT$499 per person.
