The Maolin National Scenic Area encompasses six major regions: Taoyuan District, Liouguei District, and Maolin District in Kaohsiung, as well as Sandimen Township, Wutai Township, and Majia Township in Pingtung. The breathtaking scenery of Butterfly Valley is famous worldwide. Now, just upload and share your photos on the 【Explore Maolin. Memory Map】 event website for a chance to take home amazing prizes !

The Maolin National Scenic Area boasts abundant natural resources and a wide variety of leisure and travel options. Beneath the continuous high and Pingtung mountain ranges, you can explore unique geological landscapes, experience Indigenous cultural festivals, admire rare stone slab houses, handmade glass beads, wood carvings and stone paintings, enjoy wellness and beauty-enhancing hot spring resources, embark on spiritual pilgrimages for inner peace, feel the thrill of cycling through nature, and visit one of the world’s two largest overwintering butterfly valleys — the Purple Butterfly Valley — all offering highly comfortable and delightful experiences.

The 【Explore Maolin. Memory Map】 event runs until November 20, 2011. Members of the public can simply upload photos taken within the scenic area along with a brief message about their impressions of Maolin or words of blessing to be eligible to win great prizes such as digital cameras, accommodation vouchers, hot spring coupons, and gift certificates.
