Experience the prosperity of the Silk Road as the desert comes alive in a science and education museum

From October 29, the special exhibition "Journey Through Time on the Silk Road" will be held at the Shilin Science and Education Museum, featuring precious historical relics and specimens from the Silk Road provided by the American Museum of Natural History. The exhibition combines realistic natural dioramas, captivating films, high-tech computer interactive displays, and hands-on games to take visitors on a journey along the Silk Road and explore its thousand-year legends.

Visitors can enjoy the sounds of traditional Chinese instruments in the Xi’an area, marvel at the beauty of silk from the Tang Dynasty; explore the treasures, furs, and spices that captivated travelers at the Turpan night market; discover the cultural, technological, and geographical connections along the Silk Road through an interactive map of Samarkand; and finally, operate an ancient Islamic astrolabe model in the Baghdad exhibit area to tell time by the positions of the stars.

In addition, the organizers have specially set up a desert experience zone and an authentic 1:1 Mongolian yurt, allowing the public to feel the high temperature and dry climate of up to 40 degrees Celsius, as well as to get a glimpse of the living space of the Mongolian grassland people. The pre-sale period for tickets to the "Journey Through Time on the Silk Road" special exhibition runs from the 17th to the 28th, with each ticket available at a discounted price of NT$175 (original price NT$250). During the exhibition period, ticket holders can enjoy a 30% discount on personal audio guides. Tickets are available at 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Hi-Life, as well as via the PChome and National Theater & Concert Hall ticketing systems.
