In northern Taiwan, if you want to see the sea, most people probably first think of Shalun Beach or Qianshuiwan on the North Coast. But did you know there’s another stunning blue highway on Taiwan’s west coast that not only offers ocean views but also lets you watch airplanes? The Bali-LinKou-Guanyin section of Highway 61, nestled between mountains and sea near the wind power plant at Luzhu Coastal Recreation Area, boasts this breathtaking scenery.

Driving along Highway 61 on Taiwan’s west coast, you’ll encounter many unique sights. Among them, the LinKou-Bali stretch is hailed by netizens as the most beautiful part of the blue highway. Unlike crowded beaches and overly developed commercial areas, this shoreline retains its pure, unspoiled blue.

The west coast also has several white wind turbines and rest areas. Thanks to its proximity to Taoyuan Airport, this spot offers the unique spectacle of airplanes flying past the windmills, blending white and blue into a mesmerizing scene.
