The World Design Expo has concluded, with the park areas to gradually reopen starting November 15.

Taiwan’s largest-ever World Design Exhibition, which attracted over 1.3 million visitors, came to an end yesterday (30th). The main exhibition venue, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, will be temporarily closed for 15 days from October 31 to November 14 to carry out comprehensive dismantling of the exhibits. The heritage exhibition area in the front section of the park will remain temporarily closed to the public. Regarding this exhibition in Taipei, the chairpersons of the three major design expos in the world stated that no previous exhibition in any other country had attracted such a large number of visitors, and around 80–90% of the attendees were young people.

Starting October 31, the entrances and exits of Songshan Cultural and Creative Park will be relocated to the north and south sides of the ecological landscape pond located within Lane 553, Section 4, Zhongxiao East Road. During the temporary closure, areas such as the surrounding landscape ecological pond, the Boiler Room housing the installation art “Theatre in the Boiler Room” curated by director Tsai Ming-liang, and the Liuli Workshop Xiaoshan Hall Art Gallery will remain open to the public.

The “Taiwan Design Pavilion” will be the first to reopen to the public on November 15. From mid-to-late November, the Taipei City Government’s Songshan Cultural and Creative Park Operations Center will successively launch exhibitions including Studio Ghibli’s “Original Art Exhibition of ‘From Up on Poppy Hill’,” the “6th Advertising Festival,” and “Guardians of the Spiritual Homeland – The 2nd Cross-Strait Intangible Cultural Heritage Month.” In December, there will be events such as the “Dinosaur Dream Park – Land, Sea and Air Mobilization” and the “Flying Apsaras Murals of Dunhuang Painting Exhibition.”
