Taitung Jinfeng Roselle Flower Festival: Enjoy the Blooms, Taste the Flowers, and Explore the Tribes

November is the harvest season for roselle flowers. From November 12 to 20, Taitung County’s Jinfeng Township is hosting a nine-day Roselle Flower Festival series, featuring five major themes: “Story Performances,” “Exhibitions,” “Product Sales,” “Experience Activities,” and “Carnival Events.” These are paired with special tour packages that allow visitors to enjoy the blooms, taste the flowers, and immerse themselves in the indigenous tribal culture.

The “Story Performances” integrate various acts from the Roselle Flower Festival series, showcasing the diverse cultures and artistic expressions of Jinfeng Township. The “Carnival Events” feature dances and music from Austronesian cultures, highlighting the festive spirit of indigenous celebrations. The “Experience Activities” are paired with curated travel packages, including interactive challenges during the Roselle Flower Festival where participants can personally harvest and learn how to pickle roselle, as well as visits to the Pottery Street, hands-on craft workshops, storytelling sessions with tribal chiefs, and tours of the Sabuyu Tribe.

In addition, the public can participate in online essay contests and street maze activities for a chance to win prizes such as a two-day, one-night double occupancy tour package to Baibu Township and a cash award of NT$10,000. The Roselle Flower Festival symbolizes the revival of Jinfeng Township, which was severely affected by Typhoon Morakot, and offers visitors a deeper understanding of the past, present, and future of the township’s industries.
