The design of China Airlines’ 2012 calendar and desk calendar continues the visual theme of the SkyTeam alliance — bridges — conveying the idea of Taiwan being more closely connected to the world after joining SkyTeam. Featuring elegant China Airlines flight and ground crew in uniform as the main subjects, paired with beautiful bridge scenes from various countries, it showcases a fresh new image for China Airlines.
The backgrounds of the monthly and desk calendars feature iconic bridges and seasonal scenery from major flight destinations across Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania. In line with the SkyTeam theme, 12 new faces of flight and ground crew in uniform take travelers on an immersive journey, experiencing the soul of different cities. The cover design presents the traditional water-splashing ceremony for welcoming new aircraft, along with landmarks from various continents such as giraffes, Mexican Mayan culture, the Kremlin in Russia, and Bran Castle in Romania... highlighting China Airlines’ new status as a member of SkyTeam and its upgraded cabins, while also symbolizing the renewal and fresh beginnings of the new year.

In recent years, the calendar designs have focused on significant events in China Airlines’ annual history. In 2010, it introduced the beauty of Taiwan through in-flight cultural experiences; in 2011, it featured China Airlines’ new campus. This year, with China Airlines joining SkyTeam, its network has expanded to 926 cities in 173 countries worldwide. The creative concept behind the 2012 calendar and desk calendar emphasizes the idea of “bridges,” symbolizing how China Airlines serves as a bridge between cities, connecting the world even more closely.
