The scenic beauty of the North Coast "captures" newlyweds in their wedding photos

The North Coast is a popular location for newlyweds to take wedding photos. To ride the wave of this centennial wedding boom, the North Coast National Scenic Area Administration (NCNSAA) under the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications held the “Romantic Scenery, Sweet 100 – Capture Your Wedding Moments” photography competition in April this year. The award ceremony was held on November 15, selecting 30 winning entries from 897 submissions. The Gold Award went to Lin Baiqi’s work , which won a prize of NT$100,000, while Yang Jinguo’s and Weng Zhihong’s won the Silver and Bronze Awards respectively.

In addition to the top three prizes, 10 Merit Awards, 10 Honorable Mention Awards, and 7 Creative Awards were also given. All winning works will be exhibited at the NCNSAA visitor center, and it is planned to showcase them together with past award-winning entries at Taoyuan International Airport, allowing international travelers to admire the happy moments of newlyweds and the stunning landscapes of the North Coast.

To promote wedding photography in the North Coast, the NCNSAA plans to increase the prize money for future photography competitions to attract more outstanding domestic and international entries, showcasing the North Coast’s rich coastal scenery—including wind-eroded rock formations, the Green Stone Troughs of Laomei, and the unique rock formations of Yehliu—to the world.
