The Taipei City Government's Department of Information and Tourism provided full support to the "Taipei Association of Advertising Agencies (TAAA)" in successfully bidding for the 2015 Asian Advertising Conference. After a 10-year hiatus, the city has once again secured the hosting rights, and it is expected to attract nearly 2,000 advertising industry professionals from over 20 countries and regions around the world.

The Department of Information and Tourism stated that the Asian Advertising Conference is an important international platform for the advertising industry, held biennially. Representatives from various countries share the latest trends and engage in discussions through forums to keep up with global advertising movements and trends. Hosting the event in Taipei in 2015 will not only bring significant tourism benefits but also allow Taiwan to showcase its proud cutting-edge technology industries (such as the application of advertising in tech products) to the world. The benefits are expected to create a win-win situation for Taiwan’s cultural creativity, tourism, and technology-related industries.

Director Zhao Xinpeng said that the convention and exhibition industry significantly enhances Taipei’s overall image and tourism benefits. To effectively attract MICE events to the city, the Department of Information and Tourism provides one-stop administrative assistance tailored to different phases (bidding phase, preparation phase, and event phase) required by the MICE industry. All sectors are welcome to apply for MICE sponsorship to host international conferences, exhibitions, and international travel events in Taipei.

For applications in the coming year (2012), the sponsorship amount has been increased from NT$500,000 to NT$1 million, and for those who secure the hosting rights during the "bidding phase" of international conferences, a maximum of NT$300,000 in substantive sponsorship may be granted. Relevant regulations and application forms can be downloaded from the Department of Information and Tourism’s website (www.tpedoit.taipei.gov.tw), and submissions must be completed by November 30, 2011.
