The Tai’an Cherry Blossom Festival in Houli District has become a highlight of cherry blossom viewing in Taichung City, attracting thousands of visitors every year. Along the 200-meter stretch of Anmei Road in front of the Houli Tai’an Police Station, nearly 100 cherry blossom trees are planted, and when they bloom, the blossoms are incredibly dense, including various types such as double-flowered cherry (Yaezakura) and Yoshino cherry. The night view of cherry blossoms at the police station has become a popular spot, offering a unique and beautiful cherry blossom experience.

The 2018 Houli Tai’an Cherry Blossom Festival kicked off on February 24th. During the event, traffic control measures will be in place, and shuttle bus services will be provided. The best time for flower viewing is around the Lantern Festival. Visitors can take public transportation or park their vehicles near the police station before enjoying the blossoms to their heart’s content.

Besides admiring the cherry blossoms, you can also explore the nearby Rain Tree Forest and the historic Tai’an Old Train Station along the old mountain railway line. You can stroll around the train station without needing a platform ticket, immersing yourself in the nostalgic atmosphere of the old platform. After visiting the Tai’an Old Train Station, you can head to the Yuemei Sugar Factory and check out Shu Sheng and Song He Wineries.
