Transitioning from tea trading to real estate development, Taipei’s 70-year-old Quan Xiang Tea House has officially entered the hotel and tourism industry under the name Southern Manor. The tea company has repurposed its former tea-growing slopes, blending a Southern European-style resort with Taiwan’s local tea culture, successfully establishing itself as the “first holiday stop south of the high-speed rail” in the suburbs of Taoyuan.

Inspired by the color-blocking concept of Mexican architect Luis Barragán, two purple and red high walls at the entrance frame the white building, creating a bold and passionate impression with their vibrant colors. Inside, Southern Manor avoids the luxurious yet overwhelming impression often created by excessive crystal chandeliers in typical hotels, instead focusing on crafting a sense of “comfort.” The lobby, designed by renowned Asian designer Chen Rui-xian, features transparent facades, high ceilings, intersecting arched columns, and an abundance of wood and stone elements, seamlessly integrating the space with nature and creating a modern resort embraced by the forest.

Due to its vast grounds, Southern Manor’s greatest advantage lies not only in its comprehensive facilities but also in its expansive green spaces, offering guests leisurely exploration. With 111 rooms, each over 15 pyeong (approximately 50 square meters) and equipped with private hot spring baths, guests can enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the famed "beauty hot springs" in privacy. The B1 floor houses a hot spring spa center, featuring two types of hot spring pools and seasonal functional pools.

Besides solo travelers, Southern Manor is also ideal for corporate team-building trips and resort conferences. In addition to a multifunctional conference center, the resort offers a variety of dining options including Chinese and Western restaurants and bars, ensuring all culinary needs are met without leaving the premises. The over 1,000-pyeong (approximately 3,300 square meters) hot spring spa center, sauna center, and leisure center provide a range of courses and stress-relief treatments, allowing guests to recharge both body and mind after meetings.
