Hello Kitty apple plane makes debut on December flights to Fukuoka and Seoul

EVA Air’s second-generation Hello Kitty livery aircraft—the Apple Plane—was officially unveiled today (7th). Starting today, it will operate on the Taipei–Fukuoka route every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday (BR2106/BR2105). From December 9th, it will fly daily on the Taipei–Seoul route (BR160/BR159). All service items on the livery aircraft feature Hello Kitty-themed designs, and various limited-edition Hello Kitty duty-free merchandise will be introduced periodically.

The “Apple Plane” is the second new A330-300 aircraft introduced by EVA Air this year. Its fuselage features the “Hello Kitty Loves Apples” livery theme. Since Hello Kitty is five apples tall, weighs three apples, and her favorite dessert is her mother’s homemade apple pie, apples hold special meaning for her.

In terms of travel products, EVA Air has specially partnered with Sanrio’s Harmonyland in Fukuoka, offering passengers who purchase EVA Air’s Fukuoka Harmonyland holiday packages free admission to the park and a JPY500 in-park coupon. Harmonyland has launched dazzling nighttime light displays this winter, along with a Kitty laser light show.

EVA Air’s second-generation Hello Kitty livery aircraft will consist of three planes. The first, the “Magic Plane,” began operating on the Taipei–Sapporo route from October 31st. The second, the “Apple Plane,” started flying the Taipei–Fukuoka route today and will operate the Taipei–Seoul route from December 9th. The third, the “Global Plane,” is scheduled to debut by the end of this year and will serve the Taipei–Tokyo and Taipei–Hong Kong routes.
