"Flowers in Taipei" Debuts for Christmas!

From this year’s Christmas holiday to next year’s spring break (2011/12/24～2012/4/8), the "2012 Flowers in Taipei – A Resplendent Reprise" special exhibition will grandly open at the Taipei Yuanshan Flower Expo Pavilion of Blooming Flowers, with floral art design as the main theme of the exhibition. It aims to bring joy and a sense of happiness to the public through the rich colors, postures, and clever arrangements of various flowers, while also encouraging everyone to make better use of flowers to create beautiful living environments.

This special exhibition mobilizes nearly a thousand floral designers and uses over a million flowers, paired with a series of festive atmospheres, presenting nine major themes: "Magic World," "Floral New Year’s Celebration," "Flower Fairy Troupe," "New Year’s Greetings," "Dreamland," "Floating Floral Melodies," "Orchid Art Shines," "Flowers and Mythology," and "Floral Green Spaces." These will be showcased across ten exhibition periods, taking turns to appear.

For example, the first featured exhibition, "Magic World," will feature a sleigh pulled by reindeer flying overhead, along with a super-large 3-meter magic ball, paired with a variety of floral artworks to let visitors experience the different Christmas vibes of Northern and Southern Europe, complete with magicians and street performers offering surprises on-site. Meanwhile, "Floral New Year’s Celebration" will use tens of thousands of Oncidium orchids, abundantly produced in central and southern Taiwan, to create the effect of fireworks bursting forth, promising a grand and spectacular display. For those interested in learning how to use flowers for interior decoration, don’t miss the final theme, "Floral Green Spaces," which is sure to bring you more ideas for creating beautiful home or office spaces.

Doeke Faber, President of the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), who once presided over the Flower Expo, has also made a special trip from the Netherlands to Taiwan for "Flowers in Taipei." Mr. Faber was deeply impressed by the previous Taipei Flower Expo and believes that Taipei has learned to become more beautiful and greener at a rapid pace. Through this special exhibition, the public can try to bring the beauty of flowers from outdoor appreciation into their living spaces, creating different atmospheres and tastes.
