Cathay Pacific opens its first lounge in the United States

Cathay Pacific announces the official opening of its first First and Business Class lounge in the United States, located on the fourth floor of the passenger terminal at San Francisco International Airport. Covering an area of 520 square meters, the lounge adopts the sleek and minimalist design style of Hong Kong lounges, and features high-quality white marble, “China Black” granite, as well as soft bamboo wood materials. The large window design allows ample sunlight to flood the interior.

Alex McGowan, General Manager of Product at Cathay Pacific, said: “The design of the new lounge in San Francisco draws inspiration from the Cathay Pacific lounges in Hong Kong. We believe it will bring a sense of ‘home’ to passengers familiar with our flagship lounges in Hong Kong, further enhancing the quality of our service and products, and delivering a fresh experience to our customers.”

To ensure a comfortable travel experience for passengers, Cathay Pacific is introducing Italian Poltrona Frau handcrafted “Tylor Chairs” for the first time in a lounge outside Hong Kong. These innovative “Tylor Chairs” offer multiple functions to suit different customer needs, combining dining, working, and resting in one. There are also three rain showers available for passengers to freshen up.

In terms of dining, the renowned “Gourmet Corner” will serve a variety of freshly made noodles such as dan dan noodles and wonton noodles, along with a selection of Asian and Western hot and cold dishes, including buffet options. The lounge also features seven private workstations in the computer room, providing personal computers and internet services. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire lounge area.

Passengers can access the lounge up to four hours before their flight departure. Eligible passengers include those flying in First or Business Class on Cathay Pacific or oneworld member airlines, Marco Polo Club Silver members or above, Cargo Clan Elite members, or oneworld member airline Emerald or above members.
