Lonely Planet offers a free download of its new Christchurch travel guide

The travel guide publisher Lonely Planet has recently released a 45-page post-earthquake Christchurch travel guide, and is expected to publish a new edition of the New Zealand Travel Guide this September, featuring a completely rewritten section on Christchurch. Although the official release of the book is still some time away, Lonely Planet has made a "rare move" — making the Christchurch chapter from the new edition available as a free download on their website, allowing travelers planning to visit the area to access accurate and comprehensive information right away. The new book provides an in-depth overview of accommodation, dining, shopping, entertainment, and sightseeing options in post-earthquake Christchurch and the surrounding region, making it a highly practical resource for those planning to visit New Zealand soon.
