Cathay Pacific begins accepting bookings for Premium Economy seats

Cathay Pacific’s “Premium Economy” class on long-haul routes is now open for seat reservations for flights departing from April 1. Initially, selected flights with “Premium Economy” will fly to Sydney in Australia, Toronto in Canada, New York in the United States, and other destinations. Passengers on these flights will enjoy benefits such as more spacious seat designs, dedicated check-in counters, priority boarding, and an increased baggage allowance of up to 25 kilograms.

Situated between Business Class and Economy Class, the “Premium Economy” class features 26 to 34 seats. The seats offer 6 inches more legroom compared to Economy Class, wider seating, and significantly reclining backrests. Amenities include a main tray table, a cocktail table, a footrest, a 10.6-inch TV screen, power outlets, and additional storage space. In terms of in-flight service, passengers will receive an eco-friendly travel care kit containing items such as toothbrushes, socks, eye masks, and earplugs, along with larger pillows and noise-canceling headphones. Additionally, they can enjoy welcome drinks such as juice or champagne, complimentary bottled water, and a wider selection of food including fruits, healthy snacks, and desserts.

The “Premium Economy” class will subsequently be introduced on various routes. Starting in May this year, flights to London in the UK will be added, followed by flights to Adelaide, Los Angeles, Melbourne, and San Francisco from August. From September, flights to Frankfurt will be available, while Brisbane and Mumbai will be included from October. By the end of this year, Cathay Pacific will have 48 aircraft equipped with “Premium Economy” class in service, with plans to complete installations on 87 aircraft by the end of 2013.
