Miaoli County’s accommodation evaluation kicks off—free registration for businesses now open

Miaoli County Government has launched the “Certification of Quality Service for Licensed Accommodations and Five-Star Evaluation” campaign, which will refer to the evaluation systems of the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Tourism and those of advanced countries around the world, while also enhancing Miaoli’s unique characteristics to align with local features and industry culture, and better meet the needs of the local community. The entire event is open for free voluntary registration, with no evaluation fees required. Registration is accepted from now until April 8.

The evaluation panel will consist of scholars, media professionals, tourism operators, and mystery shoppers, and the process is divided into two stages. The first stage of certification runs from now until April 15, assessing the basic environment and service quality of the participating businesses' premises. The second stage, the star rating evaluation, takes place from April 15 to May 10, scoring independently across five dimensions: “Facility Quality,” “Landscape Environment,” “Customer Service,” “Innovative Features,” and “Marketing & Hospitality.”

Businesses that receive Miaoli County’s licensed accommodation star certification plaque will have a valid certification period of two years, which can serve as a reference indicator for consumers choosing accommodations in Miaoli. The entire event is open for free voluntary registration, with no evaluation fees required. To date, 78 accommodation businesses have registered for the certification evaluation.
