Sightseeing towns snatch festival discounts – special trips to save money and enjoy great deals

The ten top sightseeing towns and three featured small towns, selected through a four-month voting process, have started rolling out accommodation, shopping, and travel package promotions starting in April. For example, Daxi and Ruifang offer 199 NT package deals. Beitou, Meinong, and Jiaoxi have partnered with local lodging operators to provide discounted stays, with Beitou’s couple-friendly guesthouse offering discounts as high as 53% off. Other areas have also teamed up with local food and souvenir vendors to offer consumption discounts, gift-with-purchase deals, and more. These initiatives not only help travelers save money but also attract more visitors to these towns.

Daxi and Ruifang, known for their “Presidential Town” and “Shueijinjiu” themes, respectively, have both launched 199 NT discount packages. From now until May 31, Daxi is running the “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Cihu Line 199 Tour Package” campaign. Visitors can purchase the package at Zhongli Bus Terminal, which includes one one-day pass, one Tourist Shuttle entertainment voucher, and a 50% discount on walk-in entry to Houtzuihu. Ruifang plans to launch a limited-edition “199 All-Inclusive Super Value Pack” in mid-May, with 10,000 sets available. Travelers can take a train or bus from Taipei to Ruifang, then transfer to the package’s dedicated shuttle to visit Shueishan Cave, Jinguashi, and Jiufen. Meanwhile, Miaoli is offering a 100 NT fare discount for rides on the Old Mountain Line tourist train from April 28 to May 13.

In terms of accommodation discounts, Beitou, Dajia, Meinong, Jiaoxi, and Jiji have collaborated with local lodging providers. For instance, Beitou’s Pacific Beitou Hot Spring Resort Hotel and Couple’s Guesthouse are offering 50% and 47% off stays, respectively. Dajia’s Dajia Hotel provides double suites for 1,000 NT and quad suites for 1,400 NT. Meinong’s Moonlight Hill Herbal Homestay Leisure Farm and Meilv Eco Park both offer 15% off weekday stays. Jiaoxi’s Zhongguan Jiaoxi Grand Hotel and Lanyang Hot Spring Hotel feature 45% off weekday rates. Jiji has partnered with Insect Er Ya She Homestay and Jiji Farm Homestay to offer free Sun Moon Lake boat tickets with stays or weekday cabin packages.

Additionally, towns like Lukang, Anping, Kinmen, Ruisui, and Xinyi have partnered with local eateries and souvenir shops to offer consumption discounts and gift-with-purchase deals. In Taipei’s Xinyi District, visitors can enjoy discounted Taipei 101 observatory tickets through a partnership with Taipei 101. Ruisui’s rafting operators are offering 200 NT off rafting trips.
