Immersive Experience: "Encounter the Great Future" at the National Taiwan Museum

The special exhibition "Encounter the Great Future – Earth's Environmental Changes," hosted by the National Taiwan Museum, is on display from now until October 14. Through virtual reality, immersive experiences, and cultural creativity, it presents three major themes: "For Modern You – The Footprints of Urban Hunters," "For Truth Seekers – Experiments on Global Warming," and "For Those Moving Toward the Future – Scripts of Tomorrow." The exhibition draws lessons from the course of past human civilizations to reflect on current global issues, anticipate potential future trends, and guide the public to face the "world of tomorrow" with optimism and a proactive attitude.

The museum will also host the "2012 Taipei Earth Day" Green Art Market on its front plaza over two days starting April 13. The event is organized around four themes: "Food and Agriculture," "Energy and Production," "Ecology and Land," and "Renewal and Restoration." It also includes activities such as the "Grassland Lecture Series," "Earth Music Concert," "Earth Cinema," "Future Film Festival," and "Snap & Act: Earth Defense Station." Free admission to the museum is available for both event days.

The National Taiwan Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is NT$20, and concession tickets are NT$10. A single ticket allows entry to both museums. Other concurrent exhibitions include "Digital Time Machine – Stories of the Past" (until May 27) and "Herbal Plants and Life Exhibition" (until July 29). The Land Bank Exhibition Hall (located diagonally across from the National Taiwan Museum) features permanent exhibits such as "Paleontological Grand Exhibition – The Epic of Life and the Dance of Evolution," the "Land Bank Historic Restoration Room," and the "Land Bank History Room."
