Open Registration for the "Over 35 Gorgeous Moms" Selection

Taipei Expo Park is celebrating the upcoming Mother’s Day in May by hosting the “2012 Blooming Gorgeous Moms Selection.” Registration is open from now until May 2. Any woman aged 35 or above who is a mother is eligible to participate. After an initial written screening, 20 contestants will be selected to compete online on May 4, where the public will vote to choose the top 10 Gorgeous Moms to advance to the final round. The top three winners will receive prizes worth NT$100,000, NT$60,000, and NT$50,000 respectively. (Prizes include a century-old BH European massage chair, a radio frequency skin tightening treatment from a renowned clinic, preserved flowers from Richi Technology, a premium skincare set from Eelin Research Society, a high-end cookware set, and a one-year subscription to “Woman I Am the Greatest,” among other generous gifts.) All other participants who visit the “Blooming Gorgeous Moms Selection” event at Taipei Expo Park on May 19 will receive a beautifully packaged participation gift — a Lucky Beauty Bag.

Additionally, during the Mother’s Day weekend on May 12 from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm, a charity carnival will be held at the Long Corridor Plaza and Entrance Plaza of Taipei Expo Park’s Yuanshan area (Exit 1 of Yuanshan Station on the Taipei Metro Danshui Line). The event will feature special performances by Ko Nai-hsin, Nicky Wu, Lala Hsu, Jully Lee, Annie Zhang, Shrimp, and the Xiban African dance and music group. The public can exchange five receipts for one raffle ticket — the more receipts donated, the higher the chances of winning. Only receipts from March–April and May–June 2011 are accepted. All collected receipts will be donated to the Taiwan Kanner Autism Foundation.

Raffle prizes include a SYM 125cc motorcycle, a Dyson vacuum cleaner, an ASUS tablet, a Panasonic mirrorless camera, an HTC smartphone, a Giant bicycle, a weighing scale… and other major prizes. To celebrate the 66th anniversary of BankTaiwan, five-gram colorful gold bars will be given to six lucky winners (matching the last four digits of a raffle ticket qualifies you). Starting at 10:00 am, the public is also encouraged to roll up their sleeves and donate blood — for every 250cc donated, you’ll receive a beautiful gift, while supplies last.

On Mother’s Day, May 13 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Yuanshan Plaza at Taipei Expo Park will host an exhibition, display, and hands-on experience featuring parenting tools and nostalgic toys. Through this activity, male family members are invited to take part in household chores traditionally labeled as “women’s work,” aiming to break down stereotypical gender roles in domestic duties. Interested members of the public are welcome to attend.
