The first Tokyo Disneyland painted train car selected Taipei’s Banqiao Line

Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea today announced two new attractions for the 2012 summer season in Taiwan — “Goofy’s Paint & Play House” and “Toy Story Mania!” The former lets visitors help Goofy paint in a colorful virtual space, while the latter is based on the animated film “Toy Story,” immersing guests in a 3D world of beloved characters like Woody and Jessie. This year, Disney has also planned its first-ever advertising campaign on Taipei MRT cars. Starting May 15 for one month, passengers riding the Banqiao Line may have the chance to ride the world’s only Disney-painted train car.

The Taiwan Special Passport for visitors from Taiwan, launched this year by Tokyo Disneyland, is now on sale with extended availability for the entire year. Ticket sales will continue until February 29, 2013, and the passport is valid from April 1 to March 1, 2013. The regular price is 6,200 yen (approximately NT$2,262), with the same benefits as before. Holders of the “Taiwan Special Passport” can enter the park directly regardless of peak hours, choose their play areas on the day of visit, and enjoy shopping discounts at Ikspiari. Tickets are available through Southeast Travel, Creation Travel, EasyGo, Daxing Travel, Wufu Travel, and Cola Travel.

July and August are peak seasons for Taiwanese tourists visiting Tokyo Disneyland. The new attraction “Toy Story Mania!” at DisneySea, with a total investment of 11.5 billion yen (approximately NT$4.194 billion), is a highlight of this year’s Disney offerings.
