The new Cihu Line is officially open—bring Mom to Taoyuan and enjoy one free ticket for every four travelers.

Taiwan Tourist Shuttle’s new Cihu Line officially began operations this Monday, passing by attractions such as the Hakka Cultural Museum, Daxi Old Street, and Cihu. To coincide with Mother’s Day celebrations, the line is themed “Bring Mom to Taoyuan” and offers a “One Free Ticket for Every Four Travelers” promotion on the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Cihu Line, along with a 50% discount for visiting Houtzu Lake.

In the past, the Danshui River was a bustling waterway, leading to the development of Daxi along the Dahan River. The old street’s baroque-style architecture is one of Daxi’s famous attractions. In 2012, Taiwan Tourist Shuttle launched a brand-new Cihu Line, starting from Zhongli’s Taoyuan Bus Zhongli Terminal. The route passes through Shanziding, Taoyuan Bus Longtan Terminal, Longtan Pond, Taoyuan County Hakka Cultural Museum, Shengyu Street on Wenhua Road, Shimen Big Lawn, Sankeng Old Street, Pinglin, Daxi Old Street, Daxi Mausoleum, and Cihu, then returns via the original route. Operating hours are weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with one bus per hour, and weekends from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with buses running every 30 minutes. A one-day pass is available at NT$100 for adults and NT$50 for children.

Additionally, from now until May 31, 2012, the “Bring Mom to Taoyuan” campaign is offering those who ride the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Cihu Line a “One Free Ticket for Every Four Travelers” deal, as well as free entry to Houtzu Lake without online reservation and a 50% discount on admission fees.
