Up to 7,000 NT$ savings on Malaysia tours purchased at the travel fair

With the peak summer travel season approaching, Tourism Malaysia has launched a series of value-for-money packages to make travel in Malaysia easier. Director Hoh Yoon of Tourism Malaysia stated that at the 2012 Taipei International Travel Fair (June 25–28), the packages on offer can save travelers up to 7,000 NT$, with additional promotions such as a free tablet for every two participants and chances to win a New iPad. During the event, the first 300 visitors who purchase a tour package at the Tourism Malaysia booth and pay a 2,000 NT$ deposit will receive an adjustable luggage strap. The first 300 people to sign up for a Sabah tour will get an eco-friendly Sabah cup provided by the Sabah Tourism Board.

Additionally, earlier this year, Tourism Malaysia launched a series of promotional advertisements for Malaysia on public buses and taxis. Since their launch, these vehicles showcasing Malaysia’s natural and cultural attractions have collectively traveled over a million kilometers. In response, the Sarawak Tourism Board, Sabah Tourism Board, MASwings, and Tourism Malaysia jointly announced at a press conference yesterday the launch of bus advertisements for Borneo as well as tourism highlights in Sabah and Sarawak.

Starting now, residents in the Greater Taipei area can admire the breathtaking landscapes of Borneo—such as the world’s largest cave, Deer Cave, and a side profile of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln—through bus ads, while also experiencing the grandeur of natural and cultural heritage sites recognized by UNESCO in 2000. In addition, Sabah’s natural scenery, whether it’s the stunning underwater world, a wealth of water activities, or the majestic Mount Kinabalu, Southeast Asia’s highest peak, all attract global travelers. Sabah’s Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park is one of the few unpolluted marine paradises in the world. World-renowned dive islands such as Sipadan and Layang-Layang, home to thousands of tropical fish, corals, turtles, and the spectacular “barracuda storm,” are a diver’s paradise.
