Discounted 70% off high-speed rail Sun Moon Lake line combo tickets go on sale before end of September

Taiwan High Speed Rail and Taiwan Tourist Shuttle “Sun Moon Lake Line” have collaborated to launch “Sun Moon Lake Adventure,” offering a combo ticket that includes both the high-speed rail ticket and the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle “Sun Moon Lake Line” ticket. This package covers round-trip high-speed rail tickets, round-trip Sun Moon Lake shuttle bus tickets, and Sun Moon Lake lake loop ferry tickets. Starting at 12:30 p.m. on June 1 until September 29, travelers can pre-purchase combo tickets for travel between July 1 and September 30 via the 7-ELEVEN ibon convenience kiosks. Discounts of up to 68% off are available.

The “Sun Moon Lake Adventure” combo ticket combines high-speed rail tickets, a shuttle bus transfer between Taichung Station and Sun Moon Lake, and a ferry ride around the lake—all in one package to handle all your travel needs. It also offers a 25% discount on standard class reserved seats on the high-speed rail, as well as a special price of NT$380 for the round-trip “Sun Moon Lake Line” shuttle bus ticket plus the lake ferry ticket (original price NT$640). For example, purchasing the “Sun Moon Lake Adventure” combo ticket for the “Taichung–Taipei” route, originally priced at NT$2,040 per person, now costs just NT$1,430, saving you NT$610 (about 70% off). The discount for the “Taichung–Chiayi” route combo ticket is even up to 68% off.

It’s important to note that before boarding the high-speed rail, you must present the “Taiwan High Speed Rail Ticket Collection Voucher” at any high-speed rail station counter to exchange it for an actual ticket before boarding. Similarly, before taking the “Sun Moon Lake Line,” you need to present the “Sun Moon Lake Line Voucher” at the Nantou Bus counter at Taichung High Speed Rail Station to exchange it for the physical bus ticket and the lake ferry ticket.
