From its origins as Europe’s most renowned purveyor of high-end handmade leather boots and riding footwear for nobility, the iconic French brand AIGLE has evolved into a leading name in comprehensive outdoor leisure and travel apparel. After meticulous preparation, the AIGLE Taipei flagship store grandly opened this month in the bustling Gongguan shopping district. Amid the lively and busy surroundings, the emergence of a fresh, elegant building brimming with European flair offers a refreshing sight. Now, modern travelers who love classic European aesthetics no longer need to cross oceans to effortlessly enjoy a zero-time-zone European leisure vibe in Taipei, along with a full range of outdoor travel apparel bursting with natural vitality.

Within the display space designed by AIGLE’s exclusive Paris-based spatial designer, the Taipei flagship store embodies a warm, nostalgic leisure style that carries forward Paris’s carefree, simple, and elegantly natural travel aesthetic. It features a full European-style retro mural wall and Asia’s largest smoked mahogany rubber boot display cabinet. Among its highlights are a life-size replica of a handmade rubber boot factory display area and a fitting room adorned with bohemian beige wood grain — all of which showcase AIGLE’s most exquisite natural travel spirit.

AIGLE stands for more than just the literal French word for “eagle”; it represents the pinnacle of outdoor and travel gear quality and taste in Paris and around the globe, making it the premier brand for refined French outdoor style that leads both quality and fashion trends. AIGLE’s classic and captivating RAGATE 72 deep blue sailing rubber boots were co-developed in 1972 with the renowned sailor Marc Pajot. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of their launch, a limited edition of 1972 handcrafted short rubber boots has been released. Featuring bold blue-and-white striped patterns full of oceanic flair paired with a classic retro logo, they are simple yet stylish.

Additionally, the 2012 AIGLE spring/summer collection draws inspiration from European-style retro summer camp fashion. In addition to retaining the classic oceanic and stylish travel color schemes and cuts, it incorporates vibrant greens reminiscent of outdoor forests and retro earthy tones full of wilderness leisure vibes. Playful patchwork designs perfectly blend the diverse colors of nature and showcase them in the new spring/summer pieces. The rich palette and diverse styles not only meet the varied functional needs of different customer groups but also highlight a distinctive, premium travel taste and elegance.
