Make free zipper zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival craft craze

As the fragrant aroma of zongzi wafts through the air with the heat of the Dragon Boat Festival and the atmosphere of family reunions grows stronger, a series of events across Taiwan are kicking off. On the actual festival day, June 23, the Miaoli Craft Park will host a DIY zipper zongzi making event within the park, which is completely free to attend, allowing families to enjoy the festive spirit while experiencing the joy of hands-on crafts together. In addition, starting July 1, the Miaoli Craft Park will also present an interactive craft exhibition titled “Love Lines ‘Play Art,’” featuring items such as double-person ceramic teacup sets and two-person straw sandals made of bulrush, all designed for shared use. The exhibition will also include various DIY activities to extend the festive togetherness of the Dragon Boat Festival.

The DIY zipper zongzi making event on June 23 will be held in three time slots: 10:00–11:30, 13:00–14:30, and 15:00–16:30, with a maximum of 50 participants per session on a reservation basis. The “Love Lines ‘Play Art’” Love Craft Exhibition will run from July 1 to December 25, showcasing interactive crafts such as double-person scarf capes, long-fork long chopsticks, patchwork chess, smile chairs, ceramic teacup sets, banquet cups, double-spout items, and two-person straw sandals. On July 3, additional activities including tea ceremony, guzheng performances, fabric crafts DIY, and pottery wheel throwing DIY will be offered.
