The Alishan Highway has reopened and the forest amusement park resumes operations today

As Typhoon Talim gradually moves away, the Chiayi Forest District Office announced that in coordination with the Fifth Maintenance Engineering Office of the Directorate General of Highways reopening the Alishan Highway (Provincial Highway 18), the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area has completed comprehensive environmental cleaning and safety inspections, and reopened at 8:00 AM today. Regarding the Alishan Forest Railway's Zhushan Line and the Zhiping–Shenmu shuttle services, full safety checks are underway, with resumption of service scheduled for tomorrow (the 23rd).

Previously affected by consecutive impacts from Typhoon Talim and the southwestern monsoon, Provincial Highway 18, the Alishan Highway, implemented precautionary road closures between kilometers 35–61 and 66–88, which were reopened at 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM yesterday, respectively. The Forest District Office reminds the public that due to days of heavy rainfall, mountainous areas have high soil moisture content, making them prone to falling rocks and landslides, and with unstable weather conditions, visitors should pay extra attention to their personal safety.
