Taoyuan's First Ocean Music Festival Features F.I.R. as Closing Act

As summer heats up, music events are kicking off across Taiwan. In northern Taiwan, in addition to the long-running Gongliao Ocean Music Festival, the Guanyin Coastal Recreation Area in Taoyuan County is joining the music scene, hosting the Taoyuan Hospitality Ocean Music Festival this Saturday and Sunday. The event is divided into a “Local Flavor Night” and an “Earth and Ocean Night,” featuring performances by bands such as Elisa, Copycat Punch, Chairman, and F.I.R. There will also be a Rock Music PK competition held before the themed nights, allowing locals to enjoy the energy of a coastal music festival right in Taoyuan.

The “2012 Taoyuan Hospitality Ocean Music Festival,” held in Taoyuan County on July 6–7, features six performing groups—including Chairman Band, Elisa Band, and Copycat Punch—on the Local Flavor Night on June 6. On July 7, the Earth and Ocean Night includes five groups such as AGG Band and MATZKA, with F.I.R. closing the show. There will also be lucky draws and an ocean fireworks display on the evening of July 7, giving attendees a chance to enjoy a summer music night and win prizes.

Additionally, the national Rock Music PK competition, which takes place before the themed nights, saw a total of 240 bands register. Thirty groups—including Zhongli Dog, GUTS Band, and Shengun Band—were selected for the preliminary round on June 6, with 15 advancing to the final on July 7.
