Free Windsurfing and Kayaking Experiences Open at Penghu Guanyin Pavilion This Summer

Want to try kayaking or windsurfing in the waters of Guanyin Pavilion at dusk while admiring the sunset over the Rainbow Bridge? From now until August 31, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration will hold “Summer Windsurfing and Kayaking Experience Activities” every Monday to Friday in the Guanyin Pavilion sea area, with two sessions per day. The public can sign up for free.

The experience activities are led by a coaching team comprising qualified lifeguards from the Maritime Transport Department of Penghu University of Science and Technology. They instruct participants in the professional knowledge and skills of windsurfing and kayaking, covering topics such as equipment introduction, safety and self-rescue, wind direction and tide observation, as well as board handling. Participants also receive hands-on instruction in sea areas on vessel performance, operation, and collision avoidance rules—making the sessions both entertaining and challenging.
In the sweltering summer heat, gliding through the clear blue sea and cool waters while windsurfing or kayaking is one of the most popular activities among visitors. To enjoy Penghu’s laid-back, slow-paced water fun, you can sign up for free online or call 06-926-4115 ext. 5302.
