Standalone villas embraced by rainforest scenery ── Australia's Songbirds Rainforest Retreat

About a half-hour drive from the Gold Coast, as you slowly wind along country roads, away from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast and the blue Pacific Ocean, you’ll arrive at a vast expanse of green forest, known locally as the Gold Coast Hinterland. This area is often referred to as the backyard of the Gold Coast. It is now designated as nine national parks, with the Tallebudgera Mountain Range being one of them.

The lush green forests and the leisurely rural scenery have long made this a honeymoon destination for Australians seeking a romantic atmosphere. As Queensland’s first national park, Tamborine Mountain is home to rare plants dating back 150 million years, as well as unique bird and butterfly ecosystems. Its forest trails always attract many nature-loving hikers. In addition, the area boasts many charming B&Bs, countryside homestays, vineyards, and artful craft workshops.

Songbirds Rainforest Retreat is a holiday lodge nestled within the Tallebudgera Mountain Range. Spanning 51 hectares, it is hidden in a nature-rich rainforest area, and within this large space, there are only six standalone villas. The retreat adopts a low-key and elegant style, with modern room designs that include everything you need, plus a lovely terrace where guests can enjoy the sounds of forest insects and birds.

The on-site restaurant is instantly captivating, with its red-toned curtains and table settings, plus its open-air design that seamlessly incorporates the surrounding rainforest views. This restaurant has won multiple awards in the Queensland Restaurant Awards for several consecutive years, drawing many visitors who come specifically to enjoy an elegant mountain meal.

Nearby, there is also a craft street called Gallery Walk. This short street, less than a few hundred meters long, is home to numerous art galleries, craft shops, and restaurants. It’s worth stopping by here for a while — browse the shops or enjoy a coffee, and spend a refreshing and leisurely morning.
