Ghost-themed fun with great food – the Limited “Spooky Tour Group” is now recruiting

The Kīlún Ghost Festival, which has a history of over 150 years, will officially kick off after the opening ceremony at Lǎodàgōng Temple on August 17. This year, continuing the tradition, a variety of performances and ancestral worship activities are planned, and for the first time ever, a “Spooky Tour Group” is being launched. The public is invited to dress up as ghosts and monsters according to the theme on August 30 during the Water Lantern Parade. Participants can join the clan competitions, admire the elaborate lantern floats and floral floats, and enjoy the parade showcasing religious art. Free round-trip transportation between Taipei and Keelung, as well as a NT$200 food voucher for temple street snacks, will be provided. The Spooky Tour Group plans to recruit 40 members, and free registration is open from now until August 23.

In addition, the Kīlún Ghost Festival is also searching for temple street snack masters and hosting the “Top 10 Budget Snacks PK.” Participants are invited to plan a NT$99 budget for a one-person Keelung snack itinerary and upload how they used the budget to the event section on the official website. The highest-rated entry as voted by netizens will win a prize of 50 budget snack meals. Additionally, 20 voters will be randomly selected to receive event souvenirs.
