The Dadaocheng Fireworks Festival Goes Romantic with 2,999 Free Roses

With dazzling fireworks and bursts of excited cheers, the Dadaocheng Fireworks Festival always attracts many visitors each year. The 2012 Dadaocheng Fireworks Festival will launch on August 18. This year’s event includes a creative market, food stalls, and in the evening, live pop music performances by artists such as Huang Wenxing, Jiang Mingjuan, and Huang Fei on the main stage. The highlight—the fireworks—will be set off at 8:30 PM. In addition, to coincide with the upcoming Qixi Festival (Chinese Valentine's Day), at 4:30 PM on the day of the event, 2,999 roses and blessings from the red threads of the Xia Hai City God Temple will be given out at Parking Lot No. 3. Participants will also have the chance to go on stage and confess their love in front of everyone.

Starting at 4:30 PM on the day of this year’s Dadaocheng Fireworks Festival, activities such as a creative market, street performers, and food stalls will be set up at Parking Lot No. 3. From 6:30 PM onward, popular artists and groups such as the Yu Lin Zheng Orchestra, Universe, Toffee, Huang Wenxing, Jiang Mingjuan, and Huang Fei will take turns performing pop songs and Taiwanese folk tunes on the main stage, accompanied by exciting performances from local community groups. Fireworks are scheduled to light up the sky between 8:30 PM and 8:50 PM.

The fireworks will be launched over the water area between Pier No. 3 and No. 5 of the Tamsui River. On the day of the event, traffic control will be in place along the riverbank, with entry and exit mainly through Pier No. 3 and No. 5. For those planning to take public transport, you can exit from Exit 2 of Daqiaotou Station on the MRT, and take bus lines 2, 9, 223, 302, 288, and 288 District to nearby stops such as Minsheng West Road Intersection and Minsheng Chongqing Road Intersection. On the day of the event, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, special shuttle buses for the “Shuanglian Line” and “Taipei Station Line” will be available at Shuanglian Station and Exit 3 of Taipei Main Station. Buses will run every 4 to 6 minutes with a single flat fare.

Furthermore, traffic control will be implemented on surrounding roads starting at 6:30 PM on August 18. The controlled area extends north to Liangzhou Street, east to Yanping North Road—Tacheng Street—Xining South Road, west to Huandao North Road, and south to Kaifeng Street. Zhongxiao Bridge will restrict pedestrian access on the north side from midnight on August 17 to 3:00 AM on August 19, with pedestrians redirected to use the south side. During the fireworks display from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM on August 18, both the northbound and southbound lanes will be cleared, and pedestrian access on the south side will also be prohibited.
