Free internet access application method for Hong Kong visa announced — go to Hong Kong anytime

The Hong Kong Immigration Department has announced that starting from September 1, Taiwanese can pre-register for entry into Hong Kong online for free. Taiwanese ethnic Chinese residents who were born in Taiwan or born outside Taiwan but have previously entered Hong Kong as Taiwanese residents can use the “Taiwan Residents Pre-arrival Registration” website (www.gov.hk/par) on the “Hong Kong Government One-Stop” portal to pre-register for an entry permit free of charge. After entering basic personal information, the computer will instantly display the registration result. Once successfully registered, print this “Taiwan Residents Pre-arrival Registration Notification” on A4 white blank paper, and you can then travel to Hong Kong with the notification and a valid return travel document to Taiwan with a validity of no less than six months.

The pre-registration is valid for two months, allows entry into Hong Kong twice, and each stay can be up to 30 days maximum. Upon entry into Hong Kong, a label containing the name, Taiwanese ID number, and conditions of stay in Hong Kong will be issued. Registrants must carry the notification, the entry label, and their return travel document to Taiwan during their stay in Hong Kong and upon departure. The information required for Taiwanese residents to pre-register for entry includes Chinese and English names, gender, date of birth, place of birth, Taiwanese ID number, return travel document number to Taiwan, and its validity period (which must be no less than six months). After printing the notification, you must check the information and sign it. If the registrant is a child under 16 years old, the child’s father, mother, or legal guardian must check the information and sign.
