The first season of TLC Travel & Living Channel’s “Taiwan Bang Bang Tang,” which was widely praised after its premiere, continues its collaboration with the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications this year for a second season. From over 3,000 applicants, 12 participants from 7 countries were selected to compete. Over the course of two months, they will travel across Taiwan’s top ten small tourist towns with host Janet, taking on challenges both in the mountains and at sea that highlight the most unique aspects of Taiwanese culture—even experiencing military training in former combat zones. The winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to experience Taiwan’s most stunning sunrise, the best traditional banquet dishes, an epic bike ride through Taroko Gorge, and a paragliding adventure in Hualien and Taitung that takes you closest to heaven—all part of the million-NTD “TOP 10 Most Incredible Taiwan Experiences for Two.” The prize also includes a USD 10,000 (approximately NTD 300,000) shopping voucher.

The second season of “Taiwan Bang Bang Tang” is set to film between September and November. Tough host Janet will join the contestants as they explore Taiwan’s top 10 small tourist towns and unique night markets, while also taking on diverse cultural challenges that blend Hokkien, Hakka, military dependents’ village, and indigenous influences. After filming, the show will air in over 20 countries including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia, reaching an estimated 136 million viewers who will get a glimpse of the most authentic side of Taiwan through their screens.

The 12 international contestants include Harvard-educated Taiwanese-American Michael, model duo Jessica and Raquel, Indonesian baking artist Anne, and this season’s youngest contestant—19-year-old muscleman and mechanic Scotty. These challengers, hailing from various countries and cultural backgrounds, will spend two months deeply immersing themselves in Taiwan’s people, landscapes, and iconic local snacks.
