The wildly popular “Fosen Café” in Daxi, which has just been awarded Taoyuan’s Golden Store title, left a deep impression after just one visit; recently, a new branch opened in Zhongli, and I rushed over to try it out—and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Located at the intersection of Huannan Road and Xinxing Road in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Fosen Café’s Zhongli Haihua Branch continues the nostalgic style of a renovated old house, not only exuding a strong hipster vibe but also offering homemade meals that feel warm and delicious. In addition to the usual brunch options, they’ve added an iron pan pancake that’s exclusive to the Zhongli branch—a must-try amazing delicacy.

%The café is located at the intersection of Huannan Road and Xinxing Road in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, retaining the nostalgic charm of a renovated old house. With a strong hipster vibe, paired with the shop’s handmade meals, it feels both cozy and tasty. In addition to the original brunch offerings, there’s also a Zhongli store-exclusive iron pan pancake, which is a surprisingly delicious must-order.

%The Zhongli store is conveniently located near a large parking lot, making it very accessible whether you drive or take public transport.

%This parking lot is quite spacious, so even if you come during busy hours, you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a spot.

%What makes this place special is the nine-grid wooden window paired with gray-toned walls and wooden doors, creating a particularly charming vibe. While dining, I saw many friends stop to take photos before leaving—clearly, this has become a popular photo spot.

%The space here includes casual meals, coffee, and light bites, and the atmosphere feels as relaxing as a European café.

%The interior design also tells a unique story—each corner has its own special anecdote, and visitors will find the space just as charming as I did. The right side of the entrance is the counter, while the rest of the area is for dining. I visited on a weekday noon and was surprised to see it packed with diners.

%The café’s ceiling has a large skylight; some sections let in natural daylight, while others offer a more dim, ambient glow, adding layers to the space.

%We were very lucky to sit in the seating area by the nine-grid window, where we could enjoy our meal while taking in the view outside—such a great vibe.

%Thanks to the thoughtful interior design, the café also has a small workshop area, where you can observe the baking process or even try your hand at making something yourself.

%Fosen Café originated from the owner’s family brunch business. The original location offered many highly rated homemade dishes. After relocating to Denglong Road in 2014, it transformed into a brunch café—the first of its kind in Daxi. That’s where I first got to know this heartfelt and cozy “Fosen Café.”

%I didn’t expect there to be a small private space inside, which can be used for meetings or personal use. It’s not only shielded from the noise outside but also allows you to enjoy your own selected ambiance.

%The furnishings, including the tables and the self-service counter, are all antiques, adding a unique charm to the space.

%The menu, which is also where you place your order, allows you to simply mark what you’d like to eat. Options include brunch, handmade burgers, and omelet rolls—all mostly made in-house.

%There are also various drinks to choose from, such as coffee, tea, and juice, catering to different preferences.

%Additionally, there are healthy meal options, light bites, desserts, and beverages, offering plenty of variety.

%Finally, there are also modern drinks like bubble tea, fruit teas, and slushies to meet the diverse needs of customers.

%Fosen Café won the Taoyuan Golden Store award in 2016 (the year may vary), and the Golden Store booklet contains a full introduction—interested visitors can pick one up at the store.

%Combo meals are available (add NT$50 for a set), that day I tried the pumpkin soup, made with pumpkin, onions, carrots, and other ingredients simmered to perfection, with no unnecessary additives, making it feel reassuring to drink.

%It had a naturally rich sweetness, without any overly heavy seasoning, pairing very well with the creamy texture.

%The taro latte is available for an additional NT$60 with a combo, and it had a stronger tea flavor, paired with rich fresh milk and black sugar, not overly sweet, with a hint of black sugar aroma upon drinking—very pleasant.

%What stood out most was the taro-flavored drink, which is also a signature homemade item. It didn’t have the overly sweet taste you might expect, but still carried a subtle taro aroma—soft, chewy, and smooth, pairing very well with the black sugar fresh milk tea.

%The yam sago drink is available for an additional NT$50 with a combo, which looked very exciting at first glance—it turned out to be black tea with a matcha foam topping. It had the sweetness of black tea and the richness of the foam, combined with the delicate fragrance of matcha for a refreshing and crisp taste.

% The presentation looks super appetizing, and most of the ingredients are freshly made in-house, not something you’d typically find at a commercial chain. It really whets your appetite!

% Grilled Chicken Burger (240 TWD), Inside there’s not only plenty of lettuce and tomatoes, but also hand-pounded beef, signature rich peanut cheese sauce, and more. There’s also a side of crispy fries — it looks super filling!

% The variety of patties they offer isn’t huge, but it should satisfy most meat lovers. We recommend going for the grilled chicken or the classic beef patty with extra cheese and a generous portion of lettuce.

% At first glance, the burger might look a bit plain, but once you take a closer look, you’ll understand its charm.

% Thanks to the thick and soft buns, even though the patty isn’t anything out of the ordinary, we actually quite like their burger buns — fluffy and soft with a nice bounce. Plus, when you take a big bite with all the fillings inside, it’s super satisfying!

% The chicken patty is juicy and flavorful, and the combination of textures is just right. You can taste the deliciousness of all the different ingredients, and the overall mouthfeel is very well-balanced. Paired with the mixed greens, it’s not greasy at all. It’s one of the few peanut butter series burgers that you can enjoy over and over again!

% Grilled Pork Chop Sandwich (110 TWD), The cappuccino comes with an extra layer of torched brown sugar on top, looking slightly fluffy — it’s visually appealing just to look at!

% They’ve combined the coffee’s rich aroma with the sweetness of the brown sugar, creating a drink that’s both aromatic and flavorful.

% Chicken Steak Sandwich (189 TWD), This one is only available at the Zhongli branch — the homemade bread looks anything but greasy. It turns out the owner uses a baked method, making it soft, fluffy, and fragrant, with a hint of wheat aroma!

% The patty is juicy and flavorful, and the combination of textures is just right.

% The crust is nice and crispy, and when paired with the fresh salad and grilled chicken leg inside, it’s really mouthwatering!

% The ingredients in the sandwich are all high quality — fresh and flavorful. The overall combination is great.

% Because the chicken leg is so tender, we highly recommend trying it. You can either eat it as is or toast it a bit more if you prefer a crispier texture. With one bite, you get the soft yet crispy bun, paired with tender, savory chicken leg meat, a soft egg, melted cheese, and crunchy lettuce — it’s truly a perfect match. It’s love at first bite!

% Once you try it, you’ll realize the chicken leg and the sandwich are an incredible combo. The overall texture is crispy, juicy, and flavorful — it’s a dish that will definitely wow you at first bite. A must-try for anyone who visits!

% Pork Chop Sandwich with Pesto (240 TWD), Inside there are two pork chops, scrambled eggs with mushrooms, pesto baguette, and a fresh salad — it looks both hearty and diverse!

% This is a super satisfying and hearty meal, whether you’re having lunch or dinner. It looks great and tastes even better!

% The mushrooms and onions add a lot of flavor and texture. It’s refreshing and easy to eat!

% The sandwich has a nice balance of flavors. It’s not too heavy, and the mushrooms add a nice umami touch. The salad served with Japanese-style vinaigrette is slightly tangy, sweet, crispy, and cuts through the richness!

% Tiramisu Toast (120 TWD), We thought we were too full to eat anything else, but the moment we saw this tiramisu toast, we suddenly made room for it XD

% What’s really special is how they layered the toast with multiple types of cream. The addition of coffee jelly adds a nice texture. It’s not only rich with coffee aroma but also has a hint of bitter-sweet cocoa powder on top — it was love at first bite!

% The coffee flavor is strong, the aroma is rich, and it’s not overly sweet. It’s a well-balanced dessert — absolutely a must-order!

“Fusen Cafe” in Zhongli’s Hua-Hua area doesn’t just look nostalgic and retro from the outside — the antique furniture and cozy atmosphere inside make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time. They offer a wide variety of dishes, including brunch, burgers, sandwiches, pan-fried dishes, light meals, desserts, and all kinds of drinks. Most of the items are homemade, and some are even creative specialties that are both surprising and delicious. Especially the Zhongli-exclusive pan-fried dishes — they’re soft, fluffy, crispy, and have lots of layers. They’re so good you’ll fall in love at first bite. Also, dessert lovers shouldn’t miss their tiramisu toast — the texture and flavor are just wonderful. We highly recommend it.
