The First Heritage Culture Exploration Camp for International Students in Miaoli

With the annual “National Heritage Day” approaching during the third weekend holiday of September, Miaoli County has launched a series of events starting from September 23 for the general public, elementary and middle school students, as well as — for the first time — a specially designed program for international students. The program includes heritage tours, off-campus learning activities, and heritage exploration experience camps. During these events, expert guides will lead visits to sites such as the Tongxiao Shrine, the Sanyi Woodcarving Museum, and the Charcoal Museum. There will be a total of five sessions for the heritage tours and exploration experience camps, each limited to 35 participants. The participation fee is NT$200 per person, and registration is now open.

In this series of heritage tour events, the “Classic Heritage Tour” for the general public will consist of four sessions on September 23, 30, and October 6 and 7. These will take participants to visit the Wenchang Temple in Miaoli City, the Feng’an Hall at Jianzhongguo Elementary School in Sanyi, the Tongxiao Shrine, and the Bamboo Dragon Cultural Relics Museum. On October 14, there will be one session of the Heritage Exploration Experience Camp, created for international students. This single session will guide international students on a visit to the Tongluo Hakka Cultural Park, as well as destinations such as the Chukuangkeng area and Shei-Pa National Park, to learn about Hakka culture and the scenic beauty of Miaoli.

The heritage tour series will run from 09:00 to 17:00 each day. Professional guides will lead participants on in-depth tours to explore Miaoli County’s heritage sites and cultural assets.
