Tea Banquet Food Festival at Maokong — Delicious Meals Without BBQ, Just 250 Yuan per Person

In response to the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, Taipei City’s Department of Commerce has partnered with businesses in the Maokong Tea Culture District to jointly launch a one-month “Tea Banquet Food Festival” promotion. From now until September 30, simply make a phone reservation in advance at any of the 12 designated shops in the district for a Mid-Autumn tea banquet. Originally priced between NT$1,000 and NT$2,000 for a four-person set, the tea banquets are now available at a promotional price of just NT$1,000—that’s up to 50% off—with an average cost of just NT$250 per person, allowing you to enjoy a variety of tea banquet dishes specially prepared by the shops.

This year, district businesses are also offering, for the first time, a package tour experience for groups of 10 or more, featuring “specialty tea banquets, guided tours of trail attractions, and DIY workshops.” Sign up before the end of October to enjoy a special rate—originally NT$8,500 per group of 10, now only NT$5,990 per group of 10. The guided tour routes include the Camphor Tree Trail, Old Tea Road, Zhanghu Trail, Zhinan Temple + Water Pipe Road, and Pot Hole Trail. Each route runs approximately from 10:00 to 15:00. Additionally, this year’s event, in collaboration with district businesses, is scheduled to publish the “Maokong Leisure Guide – 3 Ways to Savor Maokong’s Slow Life” district travel guide by the end of September. It can be downloaded from the Taipei City Department of Commerce website at www.tcooc.taipei.gov.tw or picked up at the information desks of the Maokong Cable Car Zoo Station, Zoo Inside Station, Zhinan Temple Station, and Maokong Station from September 27. With a Maokong handbook coupon or a Taipei Shopping Card, you can enjoy discounts of up to 30% on selected items at participating shops until the end of October.
