Last updated 2026-09-24 — I’ve previously seen this place featured on Kangsi Coming and Food Hunter, and its 24-hour operation is the biggest highlight of “Little Northern Dumpling House.” No matter how late you get off work, you can always come here to eat. The prices are quite affordable for Taipei’s East District—just around NT$100 for some side dishes and you’ll be full.

I’ve previously seen this place featured on Kangsi Coming and Food Hunter, and its 24-hour operation is the biggest highlight of “Little Northern Dumpling House.” No matter how late you get off work, you can always come here to eat. Little Northern Dumpling House
Recommendation Rating: ★★★☆☆ 3 stars
Short Review: A 24-hour eatery in the East District!Recommended for cheap breakfasts and late-night snacks

The small shop is located at Xinwei Market, just a 3-minute walk from Da’an MRT Station. I’ve written about many restaurants on this side of the street, such as Lao Zhao Knife-Cut Noodles, Yuanyuan’s Xiao Long Bao, Shi Fang Noodles, and even the slightly farther Xinggao Tang Kitchen.

Business is quite brisk during weekday evenings, and I’ve heard the shop sometimes messes up orders. So at first, seeing so many people made me a bit worried. After asking, the staff said that if you’re dining in, you can just order your food and find your own seat—the staff will call out each order when it’s ready, so you have to pay attention to what they’re announcing instead of being too engrossed in your phone or conversation.

Here’s the menu at Little Northern Dumpling House, which is broadly divided into dry noodles, soup noodles, dumplings, and soups. Prices are all under NT$115, with options for small and large portions. We had two small bowls today, which were just the right amount of filling for the average woman’s appetite. There are also three set meals (Options 1, 2, and 3) to choose from. If you want side dishes, just ask the staff directly—the price varies, so double-check.

Wonton Dry Noodles — $70
The wontons are the signature dish at “Little Northern Dumpling House,” and since they’re handmade, there was no way I wasn’t going to order them. They’re not very big, but each one contains a small shrimp. The flavor is okay, but nothing particularly amazing.

Although the pulled noodles here are also quite famous, netizens generally say the alkaline taste is a bit strong, so I skipped them this time. The dry noodles are made with a thicker, household-style noodle, primarily seasoned with scallion oil. The seasoning is unexpectedly “sweet”—it’s within the acceptable range, but not really to my taste.

Fried Sauce & Sesame Sauce Shredded Pork Noodles — $65
I have a weakness for anything with “double sauces,” and although fried sauce and sesame sauce are a fairly common combo, putting them together actually elevates the flavor (and the calories!). The sauce seasoning is more spot-on, and the richer taste pairs well with the thick noodles. There’s also plenty of shredded pork, so personally, I’d recommend this bowl.

I think “Little Northern Dumpling House” is just a simple, affordable place for a quick meal. Coupled with its 24-hour operation, you don’t have to worry about not having dinner after 9 PM. But the taste is pretty average.
