Shanghai to Host Asia’s Largest Art Exhibition with Picasso, Monet Works Up for Sale

The Shanghai International Fine Art Fair (SFJAF) will take place from November 3 to 11 at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, with a preview on November 2. In addition to drawing many Chinese collectors and connoisseurs, the exhibition will also attract art collectors from around the world to view and purchase exquisite works by top global artists, including masterpieces by legends such as Picasso, Renoir, Monet, Chagall, Andy Warhol, and Van Dyck.

The fair was co-founded in 2007 by Nicolo Mori and Maximin Berko, and is China’s largest and only art event of its kind, rivaling international art exhibitions such as the European Fine Art Fair in Maastricht, the London Fine Art Fair, and the New York International Art Fair.

Global top-tier galleries participating in SFJAF 2012 include Bernard De Leye, Lorenz Baumer, and Pearl Lam. The Shanghai International Fine Art Fair is open to the public and requires purchased tickets for entry. The exhibition period coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Shanghai Museum, allowing fair visitors to also enjoy free entry to the museum’s special exhibition of Song and Yuan dynasty calligraphy and paintings.
