Uncover heartwarming stories: Tourism Bureau’s Starry Accommodations seeks everyday stars

To highlight distinctive accommodations across Taiwan, the Tourism Bureau has launched the “Starry Accommodations 1+1” service competition. The first phase, “Micro Service, Heartfelt Touch – Great Recruitment of Accommodation Stars,” officially kicked off today (the 23rd), calling on elite members of Taiwan’s accommodation industry to join and search for everyday “accommodation superstars,” giving everyone a chance to become a star.

The first phase of “Starry Accommodations 1+1” runs from October 23, 2012, to January 9, 2013. Participants are invited to share their heartfelt stories of serving guests, the bittersweet challenges of handling difficult customers, or the touching moments of receiving thank-you gifts from visitors, based on seven key criteria—micro service, micro sweetness, micro touch, most passionate (Feeling), most distinctive (Face), most fun (Fun), and most fashionable (Fashion). Entries should include a 3-minute video, 5 photos, and 700 words.

The second phase, a fierce online popularity vote, is scheduled to run for one month starting December 5, 2012, to select the Top 100 Star List. A professional judging panel will then choose 30 Accommodation Superstars. Winners will receive a celebrity trophy from the Tourism Bureau and the honor of free stays at top-tier star-rated hotels and hospitality homestays. Those shortlisted for the Top 100 Star List will be awarded medals and gain priority exposure on the accommodation network both domestically and internationally. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ Tourism Bureau will also produce a “Starry Stories Collection” to significantly boost visibility for the selected accommodation superstars and their businesses.
